Virtual Support Groups
Accessing ongoing support and connecting with others who are going through similar experiences is one of the main requests we receive. Our virtual support groups are here for carers and individuals living with ME/CFS or long COVID, providing them with the opportunity to connect with others who understand the challenges of caring for a person living within the energy limits caused by these conditions.
Our virtual support group sessions run once a month for five months, from July to November.
- Each group accommodates up to 12 participants and is facilitated by one of Emerge Australia’s professional facilitators.
- These live sessions are conducted in our virtual support room using a platform called Trainer Central.
- Additionally, the virtual support room features a discussion board, allowing participants to connect between sessions.
To ensure ongoing support for individuals with ME/CFS and long COVID beyond the program’s duration, we are developing a pilot project called ‘Volunteer Community Champions’. This initiative aims to train community members to volunteer as group moderators. Further information about this pilot project will be available in the middle of the year.
